Reissue of the iconic M-51 fishtail parka

A fashion sideproject in cooperation with traditional local workshops, celebrating the 60th anniversary of an icon in fashion and subculture.

Originally introduced by the U.S. Army in 1951, the combination of slim-cut suits and the oversized M-51 Parka, characterized by its fishtail shaped hem, created a distinctive silhouette that became synonymous with Mod style in the early 1960s. It has been adopted by numerous subcultures over the years, including the punk scenes in the 1970s and 1980s, as well as the grunge movement of the 1990s.

For the M-51 Refurbished Edition, vintage fur coats were deconstructed, plucked and fit to each individual Parka. The shells are hand-selected originals from the 1950s/60s made from a water-resistant cotton sateen fabric, and maintained in its used look. Sleeves are padded and lined with Super 100 wool and buttons were replaced by lasered RF-signature horn buttons.
